BIRTHDAY
PARTIES
We are
unable to offer any special arrangements for birthday parties but you are
welcome to invite your guests to the railway on a public running day, when we
are open 1pm to 5pm. Parties usually use the picnic tables and buy train tickets
for their guests. We do serve refreshments but you are welcome to bring your
own. We ask that guests' parents stay with their children at all times to
supervise them.

The Abbeydale
Miniature Railway

Our 5" and 7¼"
gauge ground
level track is fully signalled and interlocked for added interest
and passenger safety.
Our elevated track caters for almost every gauge
from 0 up to 7¼". All carriages are 7¼" gauge for stability.
We have a dual gauge 32mm/45mm 'Garden
Railway' for steam or battery powered locos.
Visiting
model engineers are warmly welcomed. Appropriate public liability insurance
is needed. If bringing a steam loco or traction
engine, a current boiler certificate is required. Passenger rolling stock is vacuum braked.
Public running is intensive so you may prefer to visit on one of our club
only days. Please contact
us first if you intend visiting.
Visitors please note:- our
tracks have a 30ft minimum radius so may not be suitable for
certain locomotives.

PUBLIC
RUNNING TIMETABLE - 2008
IMPORTANT
NOTICE TO PASSENGERS:
All passengers
visiting and traveling on the Abbeydale Miniature Railway do so at their own risk.
Please be
aware that steam locomotives emit sparks, ashes and oil which could
result in injury or damage to clothing. Our steam and diesel locos get very hot - so please do not touch them! Read
and understand the Rail
Riding Rules at the ticket office before taking a ride.
Please see
the note in the left hand column about birthday parties.
First train
1pm - last train 5.00pm, depending on weather
conditions. We aim to have at least one steam engine operating as well as
our 'diesels'. Light
refreshments, ice cream, souvenirs etc., usually on sale. We offer clean toilet facilities, including
disabled access and baby changing. A wheelchair accessible carriage is
available on request . Admission free, the railway fare is excellent value
at only 60p per person per ride. You are welcome to bring your own picnics
but we ask you take your litter home with you as we have no refuse
collection. The dates we are open to the pubic are given below. Printed
timetables are available from the ticket office for you to take home.
